Bypassing the surge protector
If one is having issues with power in general, it sounds like there is a switch that can be used to disable the surge protector and remove it as part of troubleshooting. Does this physically isolate the unit so that one knows for sure it is out of the circuit? Is this accomplished using high power relays or an active electronic component? If the units fails and bypassed, how confident can I be that it is out of the circuit?
