Answer Question
water filter lifetime?
Can water filter lifetime be discerned by the way it functions? I mean, if I don't know how many gallons have passed through it, but I know it is less than (say) the 2000 gallon rated flow-through, should I discard it after the given lifetime of (say) 6 months or 12 months or whatever is given in the specs, if it seems to be working fine? Or will it clog up or slow down or something when it is used-up?
Or - is something bad happening inside the filter after its rated time of 6months or 12 months or whatever, regardless of gallons passed through?
IOW - How do I understand the rated lifetime compared to gallons passed through, in terms of usability of the filter?
